Defying classic genre attributions, their music is best described as Indie/Alternative-Pop — Matija manage to create their own style, a imaginative mixture of genres and influences from various art forms and often inspired by real life.
With singles like White Socks, absolutelynothing(today), More Than Happiness and their two studio albums Are We An Electric Generation Falling Apart? and byebyeskiesofyesterday Matija appeared in various TV & film formats, radio rotations & playlists plus on stage with several tours, festival shows and as a support band to international acts.
The first single Touchdown Tuesday from their upcoming EP Age of Anticipation has been released on July 27, 2023. The EP and corresponding tour are scheduled for autumn 2023.

Fanfaren von 80’s Synths mit 808 und 909 Maschinen erinnern an Robert Görl und frühen NDW-Analog Techno. Auch Elemente von Rio Reiser und Nena mischen sich ein. Frankophile Hörer*Innen werden sich mit seinen Basslines an Air erinnert fühlen, den Drive moderner französischer Popelemente in den Beats wiederfinden. Textlich befindet sich Chuck Winter irgendwo zwischen endorphingeladenen Glücksmomenten und düsterer Dystopie, findet an allem auch etwas Schönes – meistens jedenfalls. Tanzbar ist das Ganze auch.
